11 Nov 2007 - Nailsea U11's V's Clevedon

Match 1

Nailsea & Backwell ( u11`s) 59 - 5 Clevedon ( u11`s )

N & B welcomed the visitors with a fine display of strength and speed, with N & B winning nearly all the scrums this constantly set up the backs to run, but when they were tackled the forwards were always there to win the ruck or maul, this continually kept Clevedon on the back foot and rarely were they given the chance to attack. However credit must be given to Clevedon for continuing to make a game of it until the final whistle.

N & B`s tries were scored by George Neale (2) Tommy Parsons (2), Patrick Askew (2), Sam Johnstone, James Cleave and Lewis Jones, with conversions from Fred Cheeseright (6) and James Cleave.
Match 2

Nailsea & Backwell ( u11`s) 52 - 0 Clevedon ( u11`s )

The 2nd match was a repeat of the first with Clevedon having no real answer to the onslaught from

N & B. Once again the hosts freely scored tries with Tommy Parsons getting 5 as Clevedon seemed reluctant to tackle him, other tries were scored by Nathan Jones, Sam Johnstone and Pete Quinn with 6 conversions from Fred Cheeseright. Clevedon at times showed what they were capable of and caused N & B to defend hard, but could not get the try they possibly deserved.

The win was a result of the commitment from the whole squad, it was especially pleasing for the coaches as work done in training was now starting to show in match conditions, regardless of the score the coaches were impressed by how each player went about their business on the pitch.

So well done also to Josh Rees, Nathan Summerell, Edward Omally, Jonny Sykes, Alex day, Jack Summerell, Jordon Warren, Richard Hadler and William Meakin in his first competitive game, who were all instrumental in today`s matches.
