24 Nov 2007 - Nailsea 2nds Nil -Clevedon 3rds 19

Nailsea's unbeaten home run finally came to an end against a very experienced and well drilled Clevedon side.

Despite Nailsea winning the toss Nailsea struggled to convert any possesion into a good territoral advantage. Despite Nailsea's sound scrummaging base Nailsea struggled to get the ball wide. Clevedon, whose large pack dominated the rucks and mauls and finally crashed over following a good piece of interplay between Clevedon's backs and forwards

With Clevedon controlling so much of the loose play ,Nailsea struggled to get the ball and play to their strengths . Despite the change of ends and a tireless display from Freddie Le Ouedec ( Nailsea man of the match) Clevedon worked a quick blindside move and scored under the posts.

Despite this Nailsea full back Paul Davis whose counter play to Clevedon's kicking game was a masterclass in quality full back play tried to get Nailsea's backs back into the game. Clevedon did score another try with their well worked loose play.

Nailsea never gave up and the final quarter produced the best rugby from both teams with some end to end attacking rugby. Special mentions goes to the spritely young prop Clive Bowman and Dave ( the rock ) Stokes whose front five scrummaging deserved something.
**Also just a quick mention that it was good that another former player decided to make a return this week and in tribute, I have attached a picture for those of you who may have forgotton the leg-end** welcome back Stitch!!
