27 Jan 2008 - Nailsea & Backwell under Sixes and Sevens versus Taunton

When the rain finally stopped and the sun came out, our U6s and U7s hosted Taunton U7s. 

In the first match our U7s took on the visitors in a close game with N&B edging ahead three times, only for Taunton to draw level.  We managed to score a fourth try and hold onto the lead until the final whistle, with N&B winning by four tries to three.  An excellent team performance with good support play and good tagging.  Tries were scored by Adam, Sam J (2 tries) and Oliver.

In the second match our Under 6s took on Taunton's U7s.  We put in a great team performance with some very quick breaks which left the opposition standing.  Jack Thomas scored two very good tries.  Unfortunately we were outrun by our older and more experienced visitors, with the final score two tries to six.

In the third match we put out a combined U6 and U7 side to ensure that everyone got a game.  Good running, supporting and tackling from both age groups meant a good all-round team performance.  Tries came from Jack Thomas and Joe Mansfield (2 tries).  The final score was three tries all.

All round, a great team performance with a very mature performance from the U7s.  The U6s showed great flair and promise for our next match.
